January 20th: A witness to history!

1.20.09 Barack Obama day. Today is History in the making because it was still only 2:30 in the morning. This is how early we has to wake up today because we had the idea that if we get to the metro station around 3 that we wouldn't have trouble with the crowds, well that wasn't the case because there was at least 1,000 people thinking the same thing. So we left the cabin, me with extra warm clothes and my tri-colored dreads and excited for the task ahead of us. We got to the metro station and there was a huge line to board the trains it actually took a while to get on the metro, but it took even longer to get to our destination because of all the trains that were being used to transfer all the people that were going to the same place. We got off at the L'endant station and there was even more traffic, especially going up the ecalators, nothing I didn't expect. After we left the station we hit the streets and the streets were even more packed. From 4th street to 12th street was closed so we walked up to 12th street and headed to the National mall, were we found a place to enjoy the Inauguration. We got as close as possible because there was already at least 400,000 people already around the mall, at 6 in the morning tho. I was amazed. We got about half a mile away from the Capitol building and got close to a jumbotron because it was a little difficult to view Obama and the Inauguration good with the naked eye. So we settled in our little area and it was cold outside about 27 degrees, and we chilled because we were still waiting for the Inauguration to set up and begin. That took about 4 hours and in about 40 min. after we got there there was no where to go because people just started flooding in all around us. After all the waiting it all began. First they introduced a few important people such as senators, cheifs of justice, and ex presidents like Bill Clinton and George Bush. Al Fore was there and a few celebrities such as Sean Combs and Jay-Z. After all that the real show begun. Michelle Obama and his and her daughters came out first, cheers and cheers rung the Mall. Then the main man Barack Obama come out and the crowd went nuts, OBAMA was all you heard echoing through the National mall. They started the Inauguration with a lady that spoke and then some guy gave a prayer that actually was pretty good. Then Biden was introduced and sworn in, that was cool. After that it was the main event, Obama was sworn in and then the crowd went nuts again. Haha. After he did his oath Obama gave a speech that I will never forget, those were wise words coming from a wise man. The inauguration ended after about an hour and Bush left the building in his helicopter and went packing home. After all was done the mall cleared out and we did also. We joined the millions in the parade that took place there along Pennslyvania ave, Its was hell of fun. Since we had more time on our hands we decided to go check out the Smithsonian Castle and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. In the Air and Space museum we got to watch a 3D movie about the sun, it was interesting because I didnt know that we had sata. Today was a great day and it will never be forgotten it was journey of a limetime
because I'm a Obama and new era witness in the flesh with a record breaking 2 million people! And nobody can take that away. Obama's speech he had everbody including myself believe and have hope when he said "that as a nation, in land of americans that for our falting economy and the war and hard welfare situations and many more problems that but he promised that we will have change in our nation maybe not in a shor`t period of time nor a term but our problems will be met and as America will rise up, dust our shoulders off and renew America, andwe will not be defeated". WE ARE ONE!
